EFFECT OF HUNGARIAN ASSIGNMENT MODEL ON TASK ALLOCATION EFFICIENCY IN NIGERIAN UNIVERSITIES

The Nigerian universities play critical role in nation building but achieving this requires optional application of its workforce. This study on the effect of Hungarian Assignment Model on Task Allocation Efficiency in Nigerian Universities examines how lectures effectiveness in Department of Business Administration in Nigeria Universities can be attain through allocation of courses to lecturers using the assignment model. The study used a well-structured questionnaire to obtain data from lecturers of the studied department and analysis was carried out using the Hungarian method of assignment model. The study revealed that adoption of Hungarian assignment model in course allocation will help the department to attain increment in quality of teaching in the institution. The study concludes that the Hungarian assignment model is a reliable technique of operation research in allocation of tasks to employees thus recommends that tertiary institutions particularly universities should be adopting assignment model in allocation of courses to lecturers to enable the institutions attain improve quality of education and quality assurance towards national development.
