Mixed research methods were adopted in the study. Data were collected from primary source via questionnaires administered to 450 respondents. Five key informants were utilized for qualitative data. The secondary sources include local and international journals, and newspaper. Qualitative data were analysed thematically, while the quantitative data were analyzed statistically using mean and standard deviation. Findings reveal that government efforts towards rice value chain were significant and effective on rice productivity and human development in Awe local government area. Based on these findings, the study recommends that Central bank of Nigeria (CBN) /Nigeria Incentive Risk Based Agricultural Lending System (NIRSAL) should collaborate with Nasarawa Agricultural Development Programmed to provide enough extension workers in order to provide agricultural extension services and equipment.
